Why does the temperature matter?
Windshields are bonded to your car with a urethane sealant. Below about 15°C the sealant cures too slowly and may not bond properly, so we don’t install or repair outdoors in the cold.
Your windshield is part of your car’s safety structure — it helps hold the roof up in a rollover and supports the passenger airbag. A weak bond is not worth the risk.
When it’s colder, we do the work in-shop where the temperature is controlled. Call us to book a time.
How long does mobile windshield replacement take?
Mobile windshield replacement takes about 2 hours: roughly an hour to remove the old glass and install the new windshield, then time for the urethane sealant to set before the car is safe to drive.
How mobile replacement works
- Request a quote online or call with your vehicle’s year, make, model and VIN
- We confirm the correct glass for your vehicle and book a time and place
- A certified technician arrives with the new windshield and tools
- Old glass is removed, the frame is cleaned and primed, and the new windshield is bonded
- We tell you the safe drive-away time before we leave
When do you need replacement instead of repair?
Replacement is needed when a crack is longer than a chip repair can fix, damage is larger than a loonie, the break reaches the edge of the glass, or it sits directly in the driver’s line of sight. If you only have a small chip, mobile windshield repair is faster and cheaper.

No. There is no travel fee for mobile service in Ottawa and Gatineau — you pay for the glass and installation only.
Q. Can you replace my windshield in a parking garage?
Usually, yes. We need enough room to open the doors fully and work around the windshield. A heated garage is also a good option on colder days.
Q. How soon can I drive after a mobile replacement?
The technician will tell you the safe drive-away time — typically about an hour after installation, as part of the roughly 2-hour appointment.
