Auto Glass Repair & Replacement in Nepean

Auto glass Nepean: the short answer

QuickGlass repairs and replaces every piece of auto glass in Nepean — windshields, door glass, back glass and quarter glass — on cars, SUVs, vans and light trucks. Chip repair takes about 30 minutes, a windshield replacement about 2 hours, and our work has a lifetime limited warranty.

Nepean's auto glass damage tracks its roads: highway gravel on the 416, construction debris on Fallowfield and Merivale, and work trucks and vans from the business parks along Baseline and Merivale.

What auto glass we work on

Not sure what you need? See all our services or send a photo with the quote form.

• Windshields: laminated safety glass, repaired or replaced
• Door glass (side windows): tempered glass, replaced
• Back glass: tempered, often with defroster lines and antenna
• Quarter glass and vent windows
• Pickup truck back glass, including many sliding rear windows

Laminated vs tempered auto glass

Windshields are laminated: two layers of glass with a plastic layer in between. When hit, they chip or crack but stay in one piece, which is why small windshield damage can often be repaired.

Side and back windows are usually tempered. Tempered glass is heat-treated so it breaks into small, blunt pieces. It can't be repaired once broken — it has to be replaced, and the leftover glass cleaned out.

Windshield cameras, sensors and recalibration

Many newer vehicles have a camera behind the windshield for lane-keeping, automatic braking or adaptive cruise control, plus rain and light sensors. After a windshield replacement, some of these systems need to be checked or recalibrated so they read the road correctly.

Tell us your year, make, model and VIN when you request a quote. We'll explain whether your vehicle has these features and what applies to it.

Insurance claims for auto glass

Glass damage is often covered under comprehensive or specific-perils coverage. We help with the paperwork, and on eligible claims we can waive up to 100% of your deductible. See our insurance page and the Insurance Bureau of Canada for general information.

Use the "Claim with insurance" tab on our quote form to send your insurer, date of loss, plate and mileage with your request.

Ontario rules and safety standards

Windshields sold in Canada must meet the federal Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations. Ontario's Highway Traffic Act requires a clear view, and damaged glass can fail a Safety Standards Certificate inspection. Industry practice for installation is set out by the Auto Glass Safety Council.
